Specific Skills:Employer requires a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences or related field. Employer accepts a PhD in Geophysical Sciences in satisfaction of the degree requirement. This PERM application is for permanent employment certification for a university teacher. Pursuant to 20 CFR 656.18, the employer is permitted to consider preferred qualifications in addition to minimum requirements for the position to determine whether the alien is more qualified than U.S. applicants. The candidates program is expected to complement existing research within the department and teaching needs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The potential to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative research that cuts across specialty areas within the department, the College of Science and Purdues research community is desirable. One particular area of emphasis will be in the area of data sciences. In particular, the successful candidate will have multiple opportunities to join transdisciplinary efforts in areas such as natural hazards risk prediction, fusion of modeling and data science, and the foodenergy water nexus. To satisfy these preferences, Employer accepts demonstration of 1 publication of papers in journals, conference proceedings or symposia, 2 invited talks and presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, or 3 one semester 16 weeks in any role involving research at an institution of higher education or research, including but not limited to roles at graduate, doctoral or postdoctoral levels possible titles include Research AssistantAssociate, postdoctoral titles, Researcher titles, faculty titles or similar titles; in all cases such publication, presentation or research should involve one of the preferred areas or related topics.
