Specific Skills:H10B Must have 3 years of experience with IT Systems Administration in Server Infrastructure, including the following Server Services Midrange Systems Admin Virtualization vPAR v6, HPVM, Windows Systems Administration, Windows Virtualization Vcenter, XenApp; Managed Services oversight of Core Infrastructure; installing and updating XenApp farms; solving technical issues; training users; managing Windows servers; troubleshooting and resolving issues in Citrix environment including Web Interface, application enumeration and performance issues, printing and provisioning issues for internal and external clients; creating technical documentations following IQOQ policies; installation and maintenance of enterprise level applications within the XenApp environments; ensuring compliance within the managed services framework and identifying and implementing process improvements. In order to perform the highly specialized job details listed above, this employee must have an indepth, complex, and highly technical understanding of IT systems administration and server infrastructure that is best gained through a university degree. In addition, as this employee is responsible for working on Mercks global infrastructure; ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of that infrastructure; leading global projects focused on small operational and engineering operations; interacting with various country managers; and performing Quality Assurance oversight for Server Infrastructure Services; the employer has determined that this Specialist needs significant handson experience. Because of the nature of this position, the advanced responsibilities it entails, the highly specialized duties specific to the tightly regulated global pharmaceutical industry, and the serious consequences of network and server errors, Merck has determined that a combination of a university education and extensive handson experience is necessary.
