At Idahoan Foods, the Foods Scientist Innovation is not an entrylevel position. Leadership arising from this position is critical to offer innovation, which includes developing new flavors for existing quality mashed potatoes, soups, casseroles or hash browns, in a pouch, bowl, cup or more. In addition, the Food Scientist Innovation position must also ensure that our production remains compliant with FDA requirements, including HACCP and GMPs.br br U.S. Department of Labor classifies Food Scientists and Technologists as using chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to study the principles underlying the processing and deterioration of foods; to analyze food content to determine levels of vitamins, fat, sugar, and protein; to discover new food sources; to research ways to make processed foods safe, palatable, and healthful; and to apply food science knowledge to determine best ways to process, package, preserve, store, and distribute food. While this classification is consistent with the Idahoan Foods requirements, given the business need to focus on innovation, compliance, and leadership, the Idahoan Foods business necessity dictates that only a candidate with 24 months work experience will qualify for the Food Scientist Innovation position.
