Polymer rheology for the design of extrusion screws and to select equipment for the compounding process. Modeling chemical process streams and developing Process Flow Diagrams. Determining Enthalpy Properties of polymer systems. Performing energy and heat balances in compounding systems and determining electrical costs. Programming PLCHMI systems to Automate Extrusion Processes and Loss in Weight Feed Systems. Sizing material handling systems, utilizing pneumatics and mechanical conveying. Calculating SME and applying SME theory to polymer mixing and compounding systems. Developing production models and determining labor requirements and labor costs. Preparation of ISO documentation.
