Specific Skills:Employer requires a minimum of two years of experience acquiring, processing, and preserving archival materials. Experience must include 1 providing reference services for archival materials to the public; 2 knowledge of EAD, DACs, and MARC as they relate to describing archival collections; and 3 knowledge of preservation and conservation of archival materials. This PERM application for permanent employment certification for a university teacher. Pursuant to 20 CFR 656.18, the employer is permitted to consider preferred qualifications in addition to minimum requirements for the position to determine whether the alien is more qualified than U.S. applicants. Employer prefers candidates with the following experience supervising staff or students in processing archival collections; working with donors of rare or archival materials; building research collections relating to womens history; providing information literacy instruction on research use of primary source materials; and knowledge of copyright and its implications in digitizing collections. To satisfy this preference, Employer accepts demonstration of one semester 16 weeks in any role within any organization involving the abovelisted areas of experience.
