Specific Skills:Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, and at least 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering in a heavy truck environment with an emphasis on chassis and chassis systems, such as axles, air brakes, steering geometry and weight and balance. All stated experience must include at least 5 years of experience in each of the following working with chassis design for Class 8 truck or severe duty service vehicle applications; analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, perform tolerance stackup and component clearance analysis; utilizing 3DCAD systems, such as Unigraphics; and working with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Outlook. Stated experience must include at least 3 years of experience in each of the following working with tooling and fixtures design applicable to chassis assembly processes; developing and maintaining technical relationships with suppliers, understanding customer needs and providing technical solutions developing and maintaining technical roadmaps for same; utilizing PDM systems, such as Siemens Teamcenter; working on multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously with tight customer deadlines; and guiding or mentoring other more junior engineers. Must be willing to travel 5 domestically. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
