入围作品将由一组加拿大专业人士评委和评论，包括Lewin Webb（《秋天的传奇》、《赌城风云》）、Terry Coles（前YTV总裁）、Geordie & Paul Day（Pyramid Productions）、Chris Kelly（演员- 心灵家园）、Kevin Scullion（制片人，华纳兄弟- 《混混》）、Brian Vos & Jeff August（制片人，奥运会ESPN- Jump Studios）、Dan Owen（OCL音乐工作室）、Andy Curtis（演员/制片人，一只黄兔协会）、Jonathan Love（CBC）和Jay Fox（Ten4Agents）。

名字来源于宇航员的Robert Thirsk博士也将参加电影节，参与评委团并为学生电影提供评论。

Robert Thirsk High School is excited to host the fourth annual Rising Star International Student Film Festival. Students are invited to create and submit a two- to seven-minute short film for competition in the festival.

Submissions are due Feb. 15, 2017. The festival and awards will take place on March 14, 2017.

Entries will be judged and critiqued by a panel of Canadian industry professionals, including  Lewin Webb (Legends of the Fall, Casino Jack), Terry Coles (former president of YTV), Geordie & Paul Day (Pyramid Productions), Chris Kelly (actor - Heartland), Kevin Scullion (producer, Warner Bros - Hooligans), Brian Vos & Jeff August (producers, Olympic Games ESPN - Jump Studios), Dan Owen (OCL Music Studio), Andy Curtis (actor/producer, One Yellow Rabbit), Jonathan Love (CBC) and Jay Fox (Ten4Agents).

Astronaut and school namesake Dr. Robert Thirsk will also attend the festival, participate in the judge’s panel and offer critique of student films.
