Pink Shirt Day is an opportunity for everyone to wear something pink to symbolize that as a society we will not tolerate bullying. Inspired by two Nova Scotia high-school students who organized their fellow students to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied in their school, Pink Shirt Day is now celebrated nation-wide every February.

Bullying in any form is unacceptable and everyone has a role to play in promoting healthy relationships and preventing bullying. On Wednesday, Feb. 22, you can show your support for welcoming, caring, respectful, safe, and inclusive school communities by wearing a pink shirt. If you use twitter, tweet a photo of yourself using #pinkshirtday hashtag.

Many CBE schools hold assemblies, create projects and have discussions this week, and all year long, to learn how we can all work together to stop bullying. Follow the hashtag on twitter to see photos from many schools across Canada.
