Students decided to raise money for the “You Can Play” organization, which is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation.

学生们决定为“你可以参与”组织筹集资金,该组织致力于确保所有运动员无论性取向如何都能享有平等、尊重和安全的权利。


今年在路易斯·黎埃尔学校,学生健康行动团队(SWAT)将他们的全面学校健康目标集中在建立积极的心理和社交健康上。

学生们决定为“You Can Play”组织筹集资金,该组织致力于确保所有运动员在性取向方面享有平等、尊重和安全。

通过服务领导倡议,学生们筹集了1000多美元,并在2月22日星期三的粉红衬衫日集会上向该组织赠予了一张支票。

加拿大顶级速滑选手哈米什·布莱克(Hamish Black)和卡尔加里雄鹿队的乔恩·科尼希(Jon Cornish)给学生们传达了一条有影响力的信息,即通过质疑对LGBTQ社区的贬低性言辞和行为,他们可以成为盟友。


This year at Louis Riel School, the student wellness action team (SWAT) have focused their Comprehensive School Health goals on building positive mental and social wellness.

Students decided to raise money for the “You Can Play” organization, which is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation.

Through service leadership initiatives students raised over $1000 and presented the organization with a cheque at a Pink Shirt Day assembly on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Hamish Black, elite speed skater and Jon Cornish of the Calgary Stampeders presented an impactful message to the students about how they can become allies to the LGBTQ community by challenging the use of derogatory language and actions.
