昨天傍晚，我们接到了怀得公园学校屋顶起火的通知。多亏了卡尔加里消防部门的快速响应，火势在造成重大损害之前就被扑灭了。

火灾局限于包含音乐室和体育馆的学校新建部分的屋顶。新建部分也受到了水损坏。初步报告显示，学校几乎没有烟雾损坏。幸运的是，火灾发生时没有员工或学生在场。

这预计对九月份开学几乎没有任何影响；但我们还需要在接下来的几天里了解更多情况。我们也正在努力弄清对几周前启动的防洪工程的影响。

​Dear parents,

Early yesterday evening we were notified of a fire on the roof of Rideau Park School. Thanks to the quick response of the Calgary Fire Department it was extinguished before causing major damage.

The fire was contained to the roof over the school addition that houses the music room and gymnasium. There was also water damage in the addition. Early reports indicate there is little smoke damage to the school. Thankfully no staff or students were present at the time of the fire.

This is expected to have little to no impact on school opening in September; however, we will know more in the coming days. We are also working to clarify its impact on the flood mitigation work that commenced a few weeks ago.
