董事会今天被授予“卓越预算奖(MBA)”，以表彰CBE在编制和发布“2017-18年学生成功的团队合作预算”方面的卓越工作。这是CBE连续第二年获得该奖项。

级总监David Stevenson向董事会呈递了这个奖项，并表示MBA认可CBE对向公众传达信息的开放、透明和负责任的承诺。

MBA推动并认可学校预算报告的卓越呈现，并提高学校业务官员在制定、分析和呈报学校系统预算方面的能力。经专业审计师的严格审核后，该奖项仅颁发给达到或超过该计划严格标准的学校区。CBE是今年加拿大少数几个获得MBA的学区之一。

MBA在奖项摘要中表示：

“2017-18年预算报告是一份出色的文件，以图形和叙述形式包含了大量的信息。这份文件对普通纳税人来说非常友好，以各种形式呈现了大量的数据以满足不同用户的需求。许多组成部分可作为独立的文件。该区要因其对MBA的预算提交而受到称赞。”

MBA是国际学校商务官员协会（ASBO）颁发的奖项，该协会是一个专业组织，提供各种节目和服务，以促进最高标准的学校业务管理实践、职业成长和教育资源的有效利用。

The Board of Trustees was presented with the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) today for excellence in the preparation and issuance of the 2017-18 Working Together for Student Success budget. It is the second year in a row the CBE has received the award.

Chief Superintendent David Stevenson presented the award to the Board, saying the MBA acknowledges the CBE’s commitment to openness, transparency and accountability in our communication with the public.

The MBA promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is conferred only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria. The CBE is one of only a few school districts in Canada to achieve the MBA this year.

The MBA states in its award summary:

“The 2017-18 budget report is an excellent document, which includes a wealth of information in graphic and narrative form. The document is user-friendly for the average taxpayer with lots of data presented in different forms to meet the needs of varied users. Many components are suitable, stand-alone documents. The District is to be congratulated for their budget submission to the Meritorious Budget Award.”

The MBA was awarded from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), a professional organization that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources.
