​​今年12月，安大略​​曼宁中学的国际学生们享受了一场盛大的宴会。曼宁中学的烹饪艺术项目今年以纯正的曼宁中学风格为国际学生做了假日午餐。曼宁中学的厨艺学生们，以及他们的红章厨师老师罗布·尚普，以及厨师罗伯特·德穆斯和吉利安·罗伯茨，为国际学生们准备和供应了传统的加拿大圣诞晚餐，活动在2017年12月13日周三的午餐时间进行。这顿饭上还有所有的额外美味，比如蔓越莓酱，填料和肉汁，它们被娴熟地盛在了一团蓬松的土豆泥上方。

安大略​​曼宁中学接收来自全球14个不同国家的65多名国际学生。

“每年我们都会为国际学生提供传统的餐食，以此与他们分享我们的文化。帮助他们在这里感到宾至如归非常重要，因为当学生们感到舒适和自信时，他们会蓬勃发展。”曼宁中学的国际学生协调员艾米·麦吉尔维尔说道。有了强大的烹饪艺术项目支持，曼宁中学的学生们对服务和餐饮技能的发展机会总是非常欢迎。

学生们表示“锦上添花”的是糖霜！或者说是糖霜蛋糕球，圣诞饼干和馅饼。这些美味是由厨师阿道福·斯科洛和他的糕点学生精心准备的。国际学生们在这个活动中吃得饱饱的，并且为他们有机会品尝加拿大美食以及在曼宁中学享受世界一流的教育而感到感激。

​​International students at Ernest Manning High School were treated to a spectacular feast in December. EMHS’s own Culinary Arts program catered the International Student Holiday Luncheon this year in true EMHS style. Ernest Manning culinary students, along with their Red Seal certified teacher chef, Rob Champ, and chefs Robert Demuth and Gillian Roberts, prepared and served a traditional Canadian Christmas dinner for the international students during lunch time on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. The meal was complete with all the extras like cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy, which was expertly ladled out over top of a cloud of mashed potatoes.

Ernest Manning High School hosts over 65 students from 14 different countries around the globe.

“Every year, treat the international students to a traditional meal to share a piece of our culture with them. It’s important to help them feel at home here, because when students feel comfortable and confident, they flourish.” says Amy McGilvary, the International Student Coordinator at EMHS. With a robust Culinary Arts program in the building, the opportunity for serving and catering skill development for Ernest Manning students is always welcome.

Students said the “icing on the cake” was literally the icing! Or perhaps it was the cake pops, Christmas cookies, and tarts that were expertly prepared by Chef Adolpho Scollo and his pastry students. The international students left the event feeling full, and thankful for their chance experience Canadian cuisine, and a world-class education in Calgary at Ernest Manning High School.
