Barbara Reid, renowned Canadian children's author and illustrator, visited Bowcroft School on Tuesday, Oct. 16. to read her latest picture book Picture the Sky to the students. She also led a plasticine workshop with our kindergarten students. Barbara has written and illustrated more than a dozen picture books, and illustrated another 25. She has received many awards for her books, and has been nominated for the TD Children's Literature Award.
CBC radio covered the event, including interviewing the author, teachers, and some of our students. The piece aired on CBC Radio One on Oct. 28. Bowcroft School was delighted to host Barbara Reid as part of our School Development Plan's focus on improving student reading comprehension.
