CBE Hires Independent Consultant to Lead Bullying Review
The Calgary Board of Education has hired Dr. Kent Donlevy to conduct its bullying review.
The purpose of this internal review is to measure the effectiveness of the CBE’s policy framework and practices to address bullying in CBE schools.
The review, which is anticipated to be completed early in the 2019-20 school year, is expected to identify if there are gaps in policies, training or supporting processes. The process will include focus groups with teachers, school administrators and central office staff about school-based responses to bullying and how well their experiences and understandings align with CBE policies and practices.

CBE Launches Independent Review of Processes and Policies Related to Bullying
May 09, 2019
The CBE has initiated an independent review of our policies and processes related to bullying in all of our schools.
This review is expected to be completed by the start of the 2019-20 school year.
We take concerns seriously and we are committed to providing welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments for our students.
We all have a responsibility to end bullying wherever it is happening. This isn’t work we can do alone. We are thankful for the many community partners and services that come together to support our students and families.
If students and parents have concerns about bullying, they are encouraged to speak with their teacher and school principal.
