For the past 11 years, FLUOR Canada has featured an artwork created by an Art student from Centennial High School on the cards that they send out to their clients and colleagues during the holiday season.
For the past 11 years, FLUOR Canada has featured an artwork created by an Art student from
Centennial High School on the cards that they send out to their clients and colleagues during the holiday season. The students create original artwork in any two-dimensional medium that is inspired by the season of winter. This year we had over 120 artworks submitted to the competition and FLUOR expressed how impressed they always are with the quality of submitted work.
This year, Sarissa C. is the winner with her acrylic painting titled, Evergreen Skies, which is inspired by morning ski trips that she has taken with her father over the years. As a prize, Sarissa received a gift card and a set of the printed cards, all generously donated by FLUOR Canada. The cards feature her artwork as well as an artist bio and write up about the inspiration for her work, included here:
Sarissa C. is a Grade 12 Art student from Centennial High School in Calgary, Alberta.
Sarissa’s acrylic piece, “Evergreen Skies” is inspired by her frequent ski trips with her dad. After every snowfall, she goes and takes advantage of the fresh powder and the morning silence of the mountains. Sarissa finds comfort on the hill and encourages everyone to get out and embrace the beauty of the Rockies as much as possible.
This year’s runners up are Amber C. with her watercolor piece, The Best Moment of Winter, Adyson R. with her pen and ink drawing, Rose Filled Winter and Marck V. with his watercolor and ink piece, Joy in Winter. The runners up all received gift cards donated by FLUOR Canada.
The Annual Holiday Card Competition is one of many initiatives between FLUOR Canada and Centennial High School in our Industry and School Partnership.
