​​We appreciate the Federal government providing funding to all provinces to assist with COVID related costs. We also appreciate Education Minister LaGrange’s commitment to giving school jurisdictions as much flexibility as possible with regards to how these dollars will be spent.

This funding may assist in paying for the increased staffing levels that the CBE was already putting in place to support both in-class learning as well as our hub model for distance learning. As well, the CBE has hired additional cleaning staff to address the need for more frequent and thorough cleaning.

We look forward to reviewing the details of this announcement and sharing exactly how we plan to allocate these funds in the best interests of students.
