国际教育周（IEW）每年11月在全球100多个国家和地区庆祝。本年度IEW将于2020年11月16日至20日举行。

在此期间，包括CBE在内的许多组织都会庆祝在提供国际机会的项目中体验到的多样性和创新。IEW关注世界各地的学校、学院、协会和企业开展的活动，旨在推广语言技能和全球学习的价值和重要性。这些活动包括学生和教师交流项目、国际学校合作伙伴关系、与外国政府的协议以及语言学习项目。无论哪种情况，各机构和组织都致力于推广国际教育机会和跨文化交流的教育益处。

与IEW的核心价值观和得到加拿大全球事务部和艾伯塔教育部国际战略支持的全加拿大战略一致，卡尔加里教育委员会向来自世界各地的学生敞开大门。这些学生参与城市各地的各种教育项目。参与对于本地和国际学生来说都有很多好处，包括对不同文化和生活方式的更深入了解，对国际政治和世界事务的更有意义的了解，更丰富的学术经验以及建立经济关系。国际学生表示，在卡尔加里的经历令人难以置信；他们的故事在CBE国际网站上分享。此外，所有CBE高中学生都有机会通过CBE的国际证书建立全球竞争能力和跨文化技能。

International Education Week (IEW) is celebrated each November by over 100 countries around the world.  This year, IEW takes place from Nov. 16 – 20, 2020. 

During this week, many organizations including the CBE, celebrate the diversity and innovation experienced in programs that offer international opportunities. IEW draws attention to activities undertaken by individual schools, colleges, associations, and businesses around the world, designed to promote the value and significance of language skills and global learning. These activities range from student and teacher exchange programs to international school partnerships, from agreements with foreign governments to language learning programs. In all cases, institutions and organizations seek to promote international education opportunities, and the educational benefits of cross-cultural contact. 

In keeping with the core values of IEW along with a Canada-wide strategy supported by Global Affairs Canada and Alberta Education's International Strategy, the Calgary Board of Education opens its doors to students from around the world.  These students participate in a variety of educational programs across the city. The benefits of participation for both local and international students are vast and include an improved understanding of varied cultures and ways of living, a more meaningful knowledge of international politics and world affairs, greater richness of academic experiences, and the building of economic relationships.  International students have indicated that their experiences in Calgary have been incredible; their stories are shared on the CBE International website. Additionally, all CBE high school students have an opportunity to build their global competencies and intercultural skills through the CBE's International Certificate.

Despite the current impacts of COVID-19 in Canada, the Calgary Board of Education remains a top education destination for international students.
