As we continue to follow provincial direction, all of our schools will be resuming in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 11.

Christopher Usih
总监

As we continue to follow provincial direction, all of our schools will be resuming in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 11.

Dear CBE Families

The first school week of 2021 has meant at-home learning for the majority of students from kindergarten to Grade 12. While our Grade 7-12 students have been learning online since Nov. 30, this has been a new experience for our K-6 students. I am proud of the resiliency our students have shown, and I thank our staff for their hard work and creativity in adapting to changing learning environments. I would also like to express my appreciation to our families for their role in supporting student learning at home in these challenging times.

Return to In-Person Classes Monday, Jan 11

As we continue to follow provincial direction, all of our schools will be resuming in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 11. The decision to move between scenarios is made by Alberta Education in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

The province has directed that resources focus on providing in-person learning for students. We will continue to provide instructional support for any student if they are ill or legally required to isolate.

This does not impact students participating in HUB online learning. They will continue with their existing schedules.

Health and Safety Measures Continue

All health and safety measures continue to be followed at our schools. These include handwashing, face mask guidelines, physical distancing (where possible) and enhanced cleaning protocols.

Complete Daily Health Checklist

We remind everyone entering a CBE school they must monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. The Alberta Health daily checklist can be found here. Please complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.
If your child has any of the symptoms of illness listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811 and keep your child at home.
If your child is feeling unwell, they must remain at home. As well, if they have had a COVID-19 test, they must not return to school until they get results, even if they are feeling better.

I wish you all a happy new year and look forward to the remainder of the school year.

Sincerely,

Christopher Usih
Chief Superintendent of Schools
