你们面临了前所未有的挑战，不得不应对一些特殊情况。你们在全球大流行病期间完成了高中学业。

你们不得不更加熟练地适应不断变化的学习环境。然而，正是因为这些经历，你们变得更加坚韧，克服了所有这些障碍，实现了自己的目标。

但是，你们的毕业不仅仅关乎你们K-12教育的最后几年。

它关乎你们所建立的友谊。关乎你们与老师、教练和导师的关系。

关乎你们的家人提供的爱和帮助——所有在你们的困难和胜利中一直支持着你们的人们。

他们都为你们感到自豪！

Hello class of 2021!

I’m Christopher Usih, Chief Superintendent of Schools for the Calgary Board of Education. I am so honoured to be a part of your graduation ceremony.

I’ll start by saying - You did it!

High school graduation is a significant milestone in your life. It is a recognition of your many accomplishments and deserves to be celebrated.

I am so proud of each of you and applaud your academic journeys.

You have certainly had an unusual high school experience.

You were challenged in unforeseen ways and had to work through some unique circumstances. You have finished high school during a difficult global pandemic.

You have had to become more proficient in adapting to changing learning environments. And yet, because of these experiences, you have become more resilient and overcome all of these obstacles to reach your goal.

But your graduation is not just about the last few years of your K-12 education.

It’s about the friendships you have made. It’s about the relationships you have with your teachers, coaches and mentors.

It’s about the love and assistance from your family - all of the people who have been there to support you through the struggles and triumphs.

They are all proud of you!

While you might not have the ceremony or the stage you thought you would be crossing, you should feel an even greater sense of accomplishment.

We know you are ready to take your knowledge and unique gifts out into the world.

And I know I speak for all of us when I say we are excited to see what you will do next.
