Students at James Short Memorial School took part in the Walk for Wenjack during the month of October, alongside many others Legacy Schools in Calgary and across the nation. Kindergarten students in Ms. Donamo’s classroom continued this ReconciliACTION and walked a total of 914 laps (equivalent to 457km) around our dry pond. This determination brought the schools total distanced walked to well of 600km, which was the distance Chanie Wenjack was attempting to walk.  The Downie Wenjak Fund reached out to the students and shared with them the following message:
