The Government of Canada has proclaimed September 30 as the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

加拿大政府宣布9月30日为真相与和解全国纪念日。


加拿大政府已宣布将9月30日星期四定为真相与和解国家日。这个联邦国家日是对真相与和解委员会行动号召80的直接回应。这一天的目的是认可和尊重住宅学校幸存者、他们的家庭和社群。它还将确保公众对住宅学校悲惨而痛苦的历史和遗产的纪念仍然是和解进程的一个重要组成部分。

​​The Government of Canada has proclaimed Thursday, Sept. 30 as the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. This federal national day directly responds to the Truth & Reconciliation Commissions Call to Action #80. The intention of the day is to recognize and honour residential school survivors, their families and communities. It will also ensure that public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.

For the 2021-22 school year, Thursday, Sept. 30 with be a non-operational day to commemorate truth and reconciliation across the Calgary Board of Education. The CBE encourages all schools to recognize Truth and Reconciliation Week from Sept. 27 - Oct. 1, 2021. This week will honour Every Child Matters and Orange Shirt Day and may include a day chosen by each school to wear orange.

The National Centre for Truth & Reconciliation is hosting virtual events from Sept. 27- Oct. 1 open to all.

The City of Calgary, in collaboration with the Calgary Fire Department, the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School Division will be hosting a virtual event on September 30 at noon:
