在今年庆祝世界教师节之际，我想借此机会赞扬我们的教师和所有教育工作者在全球大流行期间展示出的坚韧不拔。感谢你们每天为我们的学生和家庭提供支持，特别是在这个充满挑战的时刻。你们的工作受到重视和赞赏。   

教育界发生了重大变化，但有一件事始终如一——关系至关重要。友善、同理心、包容、尊重多样性、正直和品德是连接一个关爱社区的重要品质。每天，在卡尔加里教育局的教室里，你们通过言行展示了对这些重要价值的承诺。

今天，在世界教师节，我向你们致敬！你们在面对不断变化的挑战时，继续展现出同理心和勇气，确保我们的学生在课堂内外都能茁壮成长。

2021年世界教师节的主题是：“教师是教育复苏的核心。”教师和那些支持他们的人，在许多方面都是核心。你们不仅是我们整个学校体系的核心和生命力，也是我们整个社会的重要组成部分。

As we celebrate World Teachers’ Day this year, I want to t​ake a moment to acknowledge the resilience of our teachers and all education workers during the global pandemic. I am grateful for the work you do each day to support our students and families in these challenging times. You are valued and very much appreciated.    

There is significant change in the world of education, but one thing remains constant — relationships matter. Kindness, empathy, inclusion, respect for diversity, integrity, and character are important traits that bind a caring community. Each day, in classrooms across the CBE, you demonstrate your commitment to these important values through your words and action.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, I salute you for making a difference! You continue to demonstrate compassion and courage in the face of an evolving set of challenges, ensuring that our students can thrive in and outside of the classroom.

The theme of 2021 World Teachers’ Day is: “Teachers at the heart of education recovery.” Teachers — and those who support them — are at the heart of so much more than that. You are not only the heart and lifeblood of our entire school system, but our society as a whole.
