Three CBE Schools Achieve Prestigious LEED Certification.

The CBE is celebrating a major milestone in sustainable school design, as three of its recently constructed schools have earned
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The Canada Green Building Council has awarded Bayside School LEED Silver Certification, while North Trail High School and Prairie Sky School have both achieved LEED Gold Certification.
These recognitions reflect CBE’s ongoing commitment to green building principles that prioritize energy efficiency, water conservation and indoor environmental quality. The newly certified schools feature natural lighting and sustainable materials that promote healthy learning environments.
Bayside School, located in Auburn Bay, serves students from kindergarten to Grade 5 with a capacity of 600 students.
Prairie Sky School, situated in Skyview Ranch, accommodates 900 students in a K-9 configuration.
North Trail High School, in Coventry Hills, supports up to 1,800 students in Grades 10-12. Their construction was overseen by Alberta Infrastructure Capital Projects Division in close collaboration with CBE.
With these latest additions, CBE now boasts a total of 46 LEED-certified schools, including 22 with silver certification and 24 with gold certification. LEED, an internationally recognized rating system, evaluates buildings based on environmental impact and human benefits, setting a high standard for sustainability in educational spaces.
By investing in eco-friendly school design, CBE ensures students and staff benefit from healthier indoor environments. The impact of green buildings extends beyond the classroom, fostering higher productivity and well-being for those who learn and work within them.
