从2025年5月12日到16日，卡尔加里教育委员会为德国的一支杰出代表团举办了为期一周的学习、交流和合作活动。

该团队包括来自11个德国州教育部和州立机构的代表，以及来自德国联邦教育和研究部、教育部长常设会议、研究人员、记者以及Wübben基金会的成员。

“很高兴招待我们的国际客人，并与他们分享我们体系内正在进行的重要工作，”卡尔加里教育委员会首席主管Jo Pitman表示。“当我们跨学校、跨文化甚至跨大陆聚集在一起，就展示了公共教育的创新和鼓舞人心的一面。

“像这样的密切、持续的关系加强了我们的工作，并为学生开辟了新的可能性。”

此次访问深入了解了卡尔加里最大学校系统如何使用数据驱动策略来支持多样化学习环境中的学生成功。

代表团参观了城市内的多所学校，包括Niitsitapi Learning Centre、Mahogany School、Kenneth D. Taylor School、McKenzie Highlands School、Nelson Mandela High School、Robert Thirsk High School以及Education Centre的The Lodge，他们还与CBE的本土教育团队会面。除此之外，他们还参加了领导层会议、关于识字和幸福的演讲，以及专注于包容性、多样性和结果导向评估的会议。最后一周的结束是与亚伯达省教育部长Demetrios Nicolaides的会晤。

这次访问提供了一个有意义的机会，交流思想并展示了CBE正在进行的不可思议的工作。

From May 12 to 16, 2025, the Calgary Board of Education hosted a distinguished delegation from Germany for a week of learning, exchange and collaboration.

The group included representatives from education ministries and state institutes across 11 German states, along with officials from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education, researchers, a journalist, and members of the Wübben Stiftung Wissenschaft (Wübben Foundation for Science).

“It was a pleasure to host our international guests and share the important work happening across our system,” said Jo Pitman, Chief Superintendent, Calgary Board of Education. “When we come together — across schools, cultures and even continents — we show how innovative and inspiring public education can be.

“Close, ongoing relationships like these strengthen our work and open new possibilities for students.”

The visit offered a deep dive into how Calgary’s largest school system uses data-informed strategies to support student success across diverse learning environments.

Delegates toured schools across the city — including Niitsitapi Learning Centre, Mahogany School, Kenneth D. Taylor School, McKenzie Highlands School, Nelson Mandela High School, Robert Thirsk High School and The Lodge at the Education Centre, where they were joined by the CBE’s Indigenous Education Team. They also participated in leadership meetings, presentations on literacy and well-being and sessions focused on inclusion, diversity and outcomes-based assessment. The week concluded with a meeting with Alberta’s Minister of Education, Demetrios Nicolaides.

This visit provided a meaningful opportunity to exchange ideas and showcase the incredible work happening across the CBE.
