​​​​​​​​​​​​卡尔加里教育委员会(Calgary Board of Education)为两所新学校的加拿大绿色建筑委员会(CAGBA)颁发了LEED认证，并举行了庆祝活动。LEED代表能源和环境设计领导力，被认为是在160多个国家中绿色建筑的国际公认标志。

在2024年4月9日的公共董事会会议上，董事会主席劳拉·哈克(Laura Hack)向Mahogany 学校​的校长颁发了LEED金牌认证匾额，并向Lakeshore 学校​的校长颁发了LEED银牌认证匾额。

这两所学校于2022年9月开放，加入了其他38所荣获此殊荣的CBE学校。CBE现在有19所金牌认证学校和21所银牌认证学校。

“这些认证证明了我们致力于提供健康的学习和工作空间，并为学生和社区创造可持续空间的承诺，”设施与环境服务总监丹尼·布雷顿(Dany Breton)表示。

获得LEED认证的学校以提高效率、降低碳排放和创造更健康的学习空间而闻名于世，它们设计和建造室内采光充足，通风更好，并配备了改善室内空气质量的材料。它们还被设计为节约能源、减少用水、最小化室内噪音污染，并通过增加隔热层和改进温度控制来创造更好的热舒适度。

根据董事会的期望9运营期望9​，CBE旨在确保所有新建成的学校至少达到LEED银级认证标准。

匾额将被固定在学校内，并将作为提醒学生和教职员工的标志，提醒他们CBE及其学校是如何为可持续未来做出贡献的，并促进每个人的学习、生活和工作环境。

​​​​​​​​​​​​The Calgary Board of Education is celebrating two new schools that have achieved a LEED designation by the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBA). ​LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is considered an internationally recognized mark of excellence for green buildings in over 160 countries.

At the April 9, 2024 public board meeting, Board Chair Laura Hack presented a LEED Gold certification plaque to the principal of Mahogany School​ and a LEED Silver certification plaque to the principal of Lakeshore School​.

The two schools which opened in September 2022, jo​​in 38 other CBE schools with the distinguished designation. The CBE now has 19 schools with the gold designation and 21 with silver designation.

“These certifications demonstrate our commitment to providing healthy learning and work spaces and are real-life models of sustainable spaces for students and the community,” says Dany Breton, Superintendent of Facilities & Environmental Services.

LEED-certified schools are recognized for improving efficiency, lowering carbon emissions and creating healthier learning spaces for students and staff. They are designed and built with natural daylight, better ventilation and furnished with materials that enhance indoor air quality. They are also engineered to conserve energy, decrease water consumption, minimize indoor noise pollution and create better thermal comfort through increased insulation and improved temperature control.

In accordance with the Board of Trustees Operational Expectation 9​, the CBE aims to ensure that all new schools constructed meet a minimum of a LEED Silver level of certification.

The plaques will be affixed within the schools and will serve as a reminder to students and staff of how the CBE and their school is contributing to a sustainable future and promoting healthy learning environments where everyone can learn, live and work.
