Sure! Here's the translation:

Throughout February, students and staff of the Calgary Board of Education will celebrate and explore the numerous contributions of Black Canadians, peoples, and communities worldwide. Black History Month provides an opportunity for schools to amplify and spotlight the innovative, courageous, and inspiring voices, stories, and contributions of Black Canadians and communities. By honouring these stories and achievements, we can create a foundation of learning for the entire year. This may include inspiring further conversations, continued learning and exploration of the profound legacies and transformative contributions of Black Canadians and peoples in Canada and around the world.

This year, we are highlighting the work done by the Black Student Union (BSU) at Sir Winston Churchill High School to celebrate and share Black cultures, lifestyles, and history.

This year, a series of events have been designed to provide information to students about textured hair, traditional attire, fashion and culture. BSU members will also read announcements over the school’s intercom system to provide information to students and staff on Black peoples’ significant contributions to our society and communities.

Two Grade 12 students started the BSU during the 2021-22 school year, and it has been a positive force for students in the school. The BSU will continue to highlight Black experiences in February and throughout the year.

This month, other CBE schools will celebrate and explore the contributions of Black Canadians and communities through curriculum-driven learning and school events, which will create a foundation of learning for the whole year.

Student learning will be shared throughout the month. Follow your school's social media accounts to see how they honour Black History Month. These posts will also be shared on CBE's TwitterInstagram and Facebook pages.
