Report Highlights

111,259 CBE students were enrolled in the regular program (including Home Education, Outreach, Unique Settings, Chinook Learning and CBe-learn), which represents an increase of 6,318 regular program students, or 6.0 per cent, from the 2022-23 school year.
26,803 CBE students were enrolled in alternative programs, which represents an increase of 529 students, or 2.0 per cent, from the 2022-23 school year.
3,127 CBE students were enrolled in specialized classes (excluding Unique Settings), which represents an increase of 79 students, or 2.6 per cent, from the 2022-23 school year.
Between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023 7,882 students registered through the Welcome Centre. This is an increase of 2,149 student, or 37 per cent, in registrations from the year prior. This represents the highest annual non-Canadian student admission at CBE schools in the last decade.
Record enrolment growth is putting pressure on our system. This has caused the number of schools in overflow status to rise. As of the end of September 2023, 25 schools had an overflow plan in place.
