​2016年11月1日星期二，CBE董事会批准了2017-18模块化教室计划。

根据CBE对模块化教室的招生标准，在2016年9月进行了资格审查。当时没有任何学校的利用率超过90%，并且在未来三年内没有任何学校满足所有筛选条件并有资格获得评分。因此，今年不会有任何新的模块化请求。

“我们正在看到新学校的开放对我们现有学校的压力产生的影响，”设施和环境服务主任Dany Breton说。

继去年提交后，CBE重新评估了所有模块化教室的状况，并确定了需要拆除和更换Rosedale学校两个模块化教室的请求仍然有效。由于此请求是去年提出但未被批准，因此将作为持续项目保留在计划中。

CBE已确定此计划中以前包括的其他单元在此时不需要拆除和更换。预计正在进行或已计划的基础设施维护和更新（Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal，IMR）项目已经或将延长这些单元的使用寿命，使其能额外使用五到十年。

​On Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, the CBE Board of Trustees approved the 2017-18 Modular Classroom Plan.

Using the established CBE criteria for modular classrooms, an eligibility filter review was conducted in September 2016. At that time there were no schools that were over 90 per cent utilization, or projected to be over 90 per cent in the next three years, that meet all the filters to be eligible for points ranking. As a result, no new modular request will be made this year.

“We are seeing the impact of the opening of new schools on our system and how it is alleviating pressure on our existing schools,” said Dany Breton, superintendent of Facilities and Environmental Services.

Following last year’s submission, the CBE has reassessed the condition of all modular classrooms and has determined the request to demolish and replace two modular classrooms at Rosedale School is still required. As this request was made last year but was not approved, it will remain on the plan as a carry forward item.

The CBE has determined that the other units previously included in the plan do not require removal and replacement at this time. It is expected that ongoing or planned Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal (IMR) projects have or will extend the lifecycle of these units for an additional five to 10 years.

“Our new assessment approach allows us to look at the condition of the modular and ask for replacement based on how it functions as a learning space and not just on age alone,” said Breton.

Last year, the Province of Alberta approved 15 modular classroom units for five CBE schools.

The plan will be submitted to the Province of Alberta by Nov. 7, 2016 for consideration. Should the Province approve this request by February 2017, there should be sufficient time for the units to be constructed, delivered and set-up in time for the 2017-18 school year.
